1. About ECUST

Located in Shanghai, East China University of Science and Technology （ECUST） was founded in 1952. ECUST is one of the national key universities directly under the administration of China's Ministry of Education. The main campus is situated in downtown Xuhui District and enjoys the convenient public traffic, which can be reached by Metro Line 15. ECUST started enrollment and cultivation for international students in 1956.

2. Program Features

²Flexible learning: Placement test before class starts. Different level, different class, and different course content.

²Rich practical knowledge: Diverse curriculum elements include intensive reading, speaking, practical course and expansion course, which are combined together to improve language ability in multiple dimensions and strengthen the learning effect.

²Cultural experience: In order to enable students to have a better understanding of Chinese society and culture, broaden their horizon, create more fun in learning Chinese, we offer different lectures about traditional Chinese culture, cultural experience activities and talk between Chinese and foreign students.

²Completion certificate: Official transcripts will be offered to all the students, and completion certificate will be issued to students who successfully complete the course at the end of the program.

4. How to Apply

4.1 Eligibility

²Non-Chinese citizens hold regular passport

²Aged between 16-60 and in good health

lSTEP1: Click Register, use your email to register and sign in

lSTEP2: Apply now--None-degree Programs, select "Chinese Language and Culture Summer School"

lSTEP3: Fill in personal information, upload passport and resume

lSTEP4: Submit

lSTEP5: Pay application fee, upload payment proof （Only remittance or bank transfer needed）

 * The admission result will be released in about 2 weeks.

5. How to Pay

5.1 Program cost 

* Application fee is non-refundable, which should be paid when submit.

5.2 How to pay

Payment of tuition shall be completed within 5 days after getting the e-admission letter.

6. Visa, Accommodation, Insurance and Refund

²About Visa: X2 visa documents will be provided for students outside China, but no visa document for students who are in China.

²About Accommodation: there're only single suites offered on campus with limited number, including independent bathrooms and balconies, at the cost of 110 RMB/day （water and electricity included）

²About Insurance: please purchase the insurance by yourself before departure, or buy the Comprehensive Insurance for International Students with amount of 160 RMB/P. To pay and get more information about insurance policy, liability and claim, etc., please visit http://www.lxbx.net   

²About Refund: there will be no refund of tuition fee to the applicants who give up enrollment due to personal reasons. For special circumstances, applicants can apply for retaining the qualification to register in another similar short-term program. Due to visa refusal, failure to run the class, or force majeure, the tuition fee can be fully refunded.
