Introduction
The Intermediate writing is a course for international students with basic knowledge of Chinese to write in Chinese. This course requires students to use Chinese words, terms and grammar correctly.
Teaching Aims and Tasks
The intermediate writing course is to develop students’ ability in expressing in Chinese and abilities in the following aspects:
1. Text-structure comprehension
2. Sentences organization
3. Paragraph writing
4. Different literary forms distinguish
5. Sentence polishing.
Teaching Contents and Requirements
The intermediate writing course is generally open for one academic year (2 class hours per week, counting as 2 credits).
1. Teaching Contents: Reading model essays, Analyzing model essays, Key expressions and structures, Writing practicing, Commenting on writings.
2. Teaching Requirements: Accuracy, Specificity, Practicality, True, Pragmatism.
Writing Steps and Methods

1. Comment on the writings of last class.
2. Introducing the topic of this class.
3. Reading and Analyzing model essays.
4. Writing Practicing.
1) Students will imitate the key sentence patterns and paragraphs in groups.
2) Topics will be given for making up a composition orally.
3) Students should write after-class compositions according to the requirements.

Test for the Intermediate Spoken Course
1. Test Principle:
This is a course results test and the test is closely related to the teaching contents. The composition of students requires coherence in paragraphs, clearness in content and conformity to Chinese expression.
2. Question Types
1) Imitative writing with the given words.
2) Rewrite the sentences with relevant structure.
3) Choose one topic to write a topic composition.
3. Test Form
Closed-book written examination.
