2018 ECUST Shanghai Government Scholarship- Preparatory 1+4 Program

I. SCHOLARSHIP CATEGORIES
International students applying for Chinese-taught undergraduate programs at ECUST
Full Scholarship for Preparatory Program in the 1st year:
The scholarship will fund the recipients to cover their full tuition, comprehensive medical insurance, on-campus accommodation, and provide a monthly living allowance of 2500RMB/month for preparatory program in the first year.
Partial Scholarship for 4-year Bachelor Program :
The scholarship will fund the recipients to cover their full tuition and comprehensive medical insurance during their 4-year Bachelor program study period.


II. APPLICATION DEADLINE & PROCEDURES

Application Deadline: May 15th, 2018.
1. Applicants shall fill in the <Application Form of Preparatory Program for International Students in Shanghai> and send it together with the other application documents in duplicate directly to College of International Education, ECUST.
2. The application materials will be reviewed by College of International Education. And the results will be announced in June at http://ies.ecust.edu.cn/ and the notice of receipt of the Scholarship will be sent to the winners.


III. ELIGIBILITY
1. Citizens with foreign nationalities between 18 and 23 and in good health;
2. Excellent academic performance at high school;
3. Certificate of HSK4 or equivalent Chinese proficiency level;
4. Continue undergraduate study at ECUST upon completing preparatory studies;
5. Abide by the Chinese government’s laws, rules and regulations and school regulatory framework;
6. Applicants shall not receive any other types of scholarships at the time of application.
* Top priority will be given to students from Belt and Road countries.


IV. APPLICATION DOCUMENTS
1. <Application Form of Preparatory Program for International Students in Shanghai>
Download from <list.php?id=104> and print it in duplicate with signature after filling in the form.
2. Copies of high school diploma.
Fresh graduates can submit the proof of expected diploma. Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized translations in Chinese or English.
3. Transcripts for all courses during high school.
Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized translations in Chinese or English.
4. Certificate of HSK4 or equivalent Chinese proficiency level.
5. Original recommendation letters in English or Chinese from teachers at high school.
6. Other documents that can prove academic abilities.
(eg. the results of National College entrance examination. Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized translations in Chinese or English.)
7. Transcripts are required for those with college learning experiences.
8. Valid passport copy.
9. Physical Examination Record (within 6 months).
10. Two ID photos (48mm x33mm), the same size as passport photo.
Note:
1) Please send above-mentioned documents in duplicate to College of International Education, ECUST by post before May 15th. Whether or not the application is successful, the application documents will not be returned.
2) Please provide a valid email address in the application form for contact.


V. REGISTRATION

Recipients of the scholarship shall register at the university on time. Otherwise the scholarship will be withdrawn and the applicant will be considered to have automatically abandoned their scholarships.


VI. Final interpretation of this detailed implementation is a right reserved by the College of International Education, ECUST.
